WSAB Day at the Capitol

The WSAB is the voice of radio and television broadcasters at the state capitol in Olympia, and conducts “WSAB Day at the Capitol” annually.  

Radio and Television managers, WSAB Board Members and our contract lobbying team converge on Olympia during the legislative session to meet with members of the House and Senate to discuss issues that are key to broadcasters in the state of Washington.  

The WSAB’s contract lobbyist is Mark Allen Government Relations.

WSAB Day at the Capitol on January 29, 2020 was a great success, as broadcasters met with 25 legislators and their staff to share information about issues of importance to the radio and television industry in our state. With 6,600 employees in the broadcasting industry statewide, our industry contributes some $1.18 billion to the economy of our state annually. Further, the stimulative effect of broadcasting on the state’s economy is approximately 28,000 jobs and $21.91 billion in annually.
