WASHINGTON
STATE UNIVERSITY
EDWARD R. MURROW SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION
Each
academic year, the Washington State Association
of Broadcasters presents scholarships
to students enrolled in the Edward R.
Murrow School of Communication at Washington
State University, Pullman, Washington. Each scholarship provides support
to a deserving student who
has demonstrated sincere interest in broadcasting
and an intent to enter the field professionally;
talent and potential in broadcasting;
high levels of character and personality;
academic scholarship; and, financial need.
We
attempt to award at least three of the scholarships each year
to female or minority students. One of the scholarships is reserved
for a student transferring from a community
college. One of the scholarships is awarded
to a student in the “Management/Sales”
sequence and the others are awarded to
students in the “Broadcast” sequence.
Since
1962, WSAB has provided scholarships to
Murrow School students. During that
time, the Association has given nearly 125
scholarships, totaling nearl $150,000
WSAB
Scholarships are funded by income from
WSAB's Scholarship Fund. Periodically, $25,000 is added to
the principal of the Scholarship Fund
from revenue provided by WSAB's Public
Education Partnership Program.
