Read the information carefully as requirements may differ from station to station, as well as academic credit received. Be sure to check with your school program regarding internship requirements. By no means are these the only stations offering internships. Nearly every station, no matter how large or small, offers some type of program.   Salem Communications a Corporation is a leading broadcaster of religious programming and informative talk. The company owns and operates commercial radio stations in major markets throughout the United States. 
  Assist Promotions / Marketing Director with coordinating and implementing station events, manage listener database, assist with contest and promotions. Interns accepted into the program must be enrolled in a college or university and must be of junior or senior status. Interns will need to commit to a 3-month internship program.

Qualifications
  Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university, be of Junior or Senior status and must be receiving college credit for the internship. The intern will work a minimum of 20 hours per week and schedule flexibility is a plus. Must be responsible, have a positive attitude, able to handle direction and be a self-starter. Applicant should have strong communication and writing skills.

KAPP-TV / KVEW TV , Yakima, Washington
The intern program at KAPP-TV and KVEW-TV is designed to provide students a practical learning experience in the broadcasting industry.
  Interns must be students of Junior or Senior status, enrolled in a 4-year, 2-year, Technical school or High School communications or video production class. While the internship is tailored to the student's area of interest, interns will be encouraged to experience other aspects of the company/industry as well.
  Generally, interns will be required to perform tasks that another staff member regularly performs. Occasionally, "paid" interns are accepted, who will work in place of a regular paid staff, on a fill-in basis. In such cases, the intern/employee will be paid entry-level wages, for part-time hours. There will be no health insurance or other benefits granted during these internships. Interns or intern/employees are not entitled to a position with KAPP or KVEW Television upon completion of the internship.

KIRO-TV, (CBS Affiliate), Seattle, Washington
KIRO-TV offers a variety of internship opportunities, throughout the year (see the calendar that follows). Note the following.
Minimum Student requirements
  * Must be registered at a University, College, Community College, or Vocational-Technical Institute.
  * Must be of junior or senior status, or be in the last year of a Community College or Vo-Tech program.
  * Must be sponsored by a faculty advisor and/or internship coordinator and written confirmation is provided by the university/college indicating that a minimum of one credit hour will be earned for participation in the program.
  * All internships require a minimum of 15 hours per week covering a period of 10-16 weeks, depending on the school’s quarter or semester length.
   In addition, the intern will receive no compensation from the station. KIRO-TV considers the internship program format valuable in observing the student’s attitude, talents and skills, however, no guarantees are given for future employment.  Students may submit a resume and letter of interest for an internship at any time. To be considered for the quarter/semester the student desires, the resume must be submitted no later than the dates listed on the following schedule:

KING 5 Television (NBC Affiliate), Seattle, Washington
KING 5 has offered undergraduate internships for many years and remains committed to the belief that practical work experience adds realism to classroom theory and concepts. An internship provides students an avenue to test their creative talents, exercise their analytical skills and increase their understanding of broadcast operations and industry trends.
Requirements 
  * Internships are available to current college students in their Junior or Senior year with at least one    quarter remaining prior to graduation.
  * Qualified students must have strong written and oral communication skills and be interested in a     broadcasting career.
  * All internships are unpaid.
  * Students receive college credit—at the discretion of the college or university
  Internships are available year-round and generally last one quarter (approximately 3 months). The number of available internships available may vary from quarter to quarter with both full and part-time internships available.
Hours
  * Most part-time interns will work at least 20 hours per week with specific days and times agreed upon in advance.
  * Full-time interns are expected to work 40 hours per week.

KOMO-TV, (ABC Affiliate), Seattle, Washington
KOMO 4
Television offers a year-round college internship program for students who have identified communications as a career goal and who have demonstrated through academic training and/or experience the serious pursuit of that goal. The internship program exposes student to the daily demands and challenges of commercial broadcasting with a hands-on approach. Individual internships are synchronized with the academic term of the student’s college or university—typically 12 to 16 weeks. Interns are interviewed and accepted by a specific department or program unit. Departments at KOMO that accept interns are the TV News, Programming and Creative Services.
  Applications for internships are accepted from students of junior or senior standing (or second year students at community colleges and trade schools).
  Students must be currently enrolled at a college or university and preference is given to students who are residents of
Washington State majoring in communications, broadcasting or a related field. Students enrolled at a community college will be accepted if they are currently in a broadcasting/communications program.
  Students should evaluate their qualifications in relation to their areas of interest. Students who wish to work in field production, for example, would be expected to have basic production skills, including the use of videotape equipment. News interns should be able to demonstrate journalistic talents and experience. In almost all circumstances, basic knowledge of equipment and strong writing and computer skills are considered essential.

  Year round internships are offered at KHQ-TV in all facets of broadcasting—News, Sales / Marketing, Production, Engineering, Promotions, Accounting / Business and Community Affairs. The program is designed to give students a hands-on sense of what it takes to work at a television station and to show the diverse opportunities in the television broadcast industry.
Conditions

  * The internship program is open to any student enrolled in a 4-year, 2-year or vocational technical school, either as a junior/senior or in the last year of the student’s program.
  * Internships are non-paid and the student must be receiving college credit. Students will receive a maximum of 4 college credits for their participation in the KHQ program.
  * Students must be willing to work flexible hours and enthusiastically participate in all duties assigned.
  * There are no employee benefits provided and Interns are not entitled to a position with KHQ-TV upon completion of the internship.
Important
  All students participating in an internship at KHQ-TV are required to take a drug test.
