:

Northern Nevada's first fully high definition television station seeks a creative, energetic individual to join its team.  The person in this position will wear two, sometimes three hats.  We want a producer that can be responsible for producing a daily newscast while also producing a weekly political affairs newscast.  The daily newscast will delivers on our goal of providing stories that benefit the viewers. The political affairs newscasts features a number of Northern Nevada leading political journalists crafting a weekly hard hitting political affairs broadcast.  Other duties may include taking key roles in special events and special broadcasts.

We want an aggressive producer that is a journalist and has a passion for news and breaking stories.  We want our producers to be newsroom leaders.

Typical Duties:

Supervise reporters, photographers, editors, and interns; Understand and implement the news philosophy of the news director; Field produce and stories for reporters and newscast anchors; Produce, write and post news items for broadcast and the station's web site. A passion for the Internet is a must!; Make news judgments on coverage and presentation of the day's news events; Make contacts and gather information about news issues/events; Review and edit scripts written by other staff members; Work with reporters, assignment editors, and photographers to make sure KRNV completely, accurately, and fairly covers news events; Establish a good working relationship with the newscast director and the production crew to ensure a well-paced, clean newscast; Assist in long range planning for the news department; 

Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution.

Classical KING FM 98.1 has provided classical music on the FM dial since 1948, becoming one of
America’s most highly regarded classical music stations with a listener base of 250,000 and an additional 90,000 listeners on the Internet. It is also a leader in programming, arts education, and the use of communications technology to increase the distribution and knowledge of classical music. Over the next year, KING FM is conducting a one-year campaign to raise $2 million to transition from a commercial model to a listener-supported, non-profit model. The transition to the new business model will be completed in July 2011.

General Job Description:

The Development Coordinator will support the work of the Transition Campaign and later,
when the campaign is completed, the Development Department. S/he also will provide administrative support to the General Manager.

Specific Responsibilities:

For the Transition Campaign:

Support capital campaign committee: schedule meetings and follow up with committee members, maintain rosters, take and distribute minutes, prepare agendas and materials, reserve meeting space and order refreshments.

Prepare campaign reports and assist with visual presentations.

Maintain campaign materials and donor recognition lists.

Coordinate internal and external mailings. Prepare mailing lists, mail package contents,  and coordinate with designers, print, and mailhouse vendors, as needed.

Manage prospect lists, create donor profiles, and update electronic and paper donor files.

Assist in the conversion to a new donor database by entering donor information, identifying ways to maximize the features of the database, and helping to establish data entry standards.

Provide logistical support to plan and execute events and program designed to develop long-term relationships with donors.

Generate pledge reminders, acknowledgement letters, and other donor communications.

Provide support for campaign grant proposals, including coordinating supplemental materials, preparing proposal package, and tracking proposals and reports. As able, prepare updates to funders.  For the General Manager:

Provide general administrative support to the General Manager, as needed.

Assist the General Manager with her involvement in internal boards and external committees. Schedule meeting times, book rooms, arrange for A/V and refreshments; maintain Board Minutes Notebook and Rotary Arts Committee Minutes Notebook; facilitate communications with special guests; prepare materials. Assist the General Manager in updating board bios and background information. Establish rapport with board members and committee members.

Be part of a team that shares phone reception responsibilities.


Qualifications:

Ability to work effectively as part of a small team in an entrepreneurial setting.

Solid computer skills. Familiarity with donor management software.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to prioritize and organize projects, anticipate needs, meet deadlines, and problem-solve.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Ability to build rapport with donors, volunteers, and the public with diplomacy, discretion, and customer-service focus.

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, as some evening work is anticipated.

Prior administrative support experience preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree and experience in a development office desired.

Regular, full-time position: 40 hours per week.

Salary Range: $30,000 - $35,000 plus a competitive benefits package.
