WSAB Job Fairs Schedule

Updated 05/13/08

The FCC's new EEO Rules require broadcasters to complete several "non-job vacancy specific" activities. One of the required credits may be obtained by station participation in four Job Fairs. In order to receive credit, the station personnel participating in the Job Fair must have substantial responsibility in the making of hiring decisions.

The following listing is provided solely for informational purposes. WSAB does neither endorses not recommends that a station attend a Job Fair listed below; nor, guarantees that any of the Job Fairs listed below will fulfill the FCC's requirement. It is each station's obligation to contact the promoter of any specific Job Fair to determine its applicability.

If you know of a Job Fair in your area, please let WSAB know by e-mail at sandiewsab@earthlink.net the date, location and sponsor contact information, and we will be happy to add that listing to the Job Fair Schedule at no charge.

This is an opportunity to visit with a variety of personnel from many stations. Each group will have at least one person who is in charge of hiring at their company. Many times the General Sales Managers, Production Directors, Program Directors and others will also take turns at their booths. The Job Fair emphasizes that there are many people with many skill sets, behind the scenes as well as on air, who contribute to the radio stations’ successful operations. Seattle Community College Television (SCCTV) will also participate in the fair. They will contribute an iPod prize drawing for all Job Fair attendees to enter to win. The building is on the east side of the
North Seattle Community College campus. Admission is free. Metro bus routes 5, 16, 75, 316, 345, 346, serve the campus directly. Parking on campus is also available.
