Mark
Allen is the President & CEO of the
Washington State Association of Broadcasters.
He spent fifteen years on-the-air at small
and large market radio and television
stations in Washington, Oregon and California,
including the Seattle, San Francisco and
Los Angeles markets. He is a 1980 cum
laude graduate of Southwestern University
School of Law in Los Angeles, and is admitted
to practice law in the state of Washington
(1980) and Washington, D. C. (1995).
Mr. Allen practiced government relations
and communications law with the Seattle
law firm of Ogden Murphy Wallace from
1980 to 1987, and during that time served
WSAB as Assistant to the President and
General Counsel. From 1987 to 1990, he
served as Legislative Counsel to a number
of trade and professional associations
through his own firm, Mark Allen Government
Relations. In 1990 he was appointed the
WSAB’s Executive Director and Legal Counsel,
and became President & CEO in 1996.
WSAB serves all of the free, over-the-air
radio and television stations (commercial
and noncommercial) in Washington state.
